Just wondering if all wire is pretty much the same....
Obviously copper is much more expensive but there seems to be different types of aluminum wire that is either copper coated or oxidized.
Thanks

I use copper mostly because it's easier for me to obtain. I anneal my own.
I have some aluminum I bought last year to try out. It looks like it just has a black coating of some sort.
I like copper because I can use thinner gagues to hold branches in place.

I would like to know where folks get good aluminum at.... @JudyB. In particular.

I wired my orange with it the other day, and it was Damn easy! Ugly as sin, but easy!

I'll look it up for you later today @sorce. I've gotten alum. wire that I didn't like as well as this brand, so there are differences.

Awesome....
Do you remember which one I got from you with the tree packing? (above)
That was pretty good to me....if you have a better one....that would be crazy!

I used to buy this wire from a place on ebay that no longer exists, I tried to find it, but it's gone. I also used to buy it from The Monastery Bonsai store that doesn't exist online anymore either. The last time I got it from Stone Lantern. They have two alum. grades. I get the Japanese brand, it is better than the aesthetics wire. I've gotten and used the aesthetics type, and it's okay. Just a bit weaker gauge by gauge.

Niobium wire is really cool super when it is cool.

Sorry,
I just cannot help myself. 'All wire created equal?' just begs a geeky wise ass response.
Now, its been done .
