About the new ads...

Bnut,

do you have a paypal address or a friend who has one?
We can send the money through Paypal. No need to frown.
Good Day

Dunno if it has anything to do with the new ad scheme, or not, but but SOMETHING caused B-Nut to require that I change my password before I could log in. That's a bit of a pain.

That is unusual. I just checked settings and you should NEVER be prompted to change your password. Did it give you a message in a pop-up box saying something like:

"It has been X days since you last changed your password. You will need to change your password before you can log in."?

This should never happen to you...

I'd be happy to donate money to support this site. Or, I'd be happy to donate a tree to be auctioned with the proceeds going to support this site. I did the latter for BonsaiTalk back when it was still alive.

I'm getting ads for viagra and depends undergarments.
How do they know?

I spent most of my workdays making a living with radio,TV, and newspapers. Advertising was a way of life. The most difficult thing with all is the broad spectrum of audience reached.

Today's efforts are much more focused on explicit target audiences. Much better actutally for both audience and advertiser. More cost effective.

PBS radio and TV stations have a tough time existing on public funding. I think their 15 minute harrangs on TV at the end of a program is more annoying then an occassional ad throughout.

Thanks to the administrator for keeping my favorite go-to alive and well.

Nope. Didn't tell me thing. Just gave me a screen that said I was a newcomer and would have to Log In or Register. Then wouldn't let me log in. So, buried DEEPLY in the FAQs I found the instructions, and followed them. Took me three tries to get it right.

It is likely a problem with cookies - either that you had them turned off, or you erased them at some point.

. . . cookies . . .

Always a potential culprit, they're such a pain in the kazoo, but I've told FF to save cookies from only a few sites (and it still says it does), and B-N is one of them. Aside from the fact that I have to physically type my UN and PW every time now, it seems to be "fixed."
