So, The tree is 39 inches tall from the rim of the pot, which is just about 22 inches wide. The root spread is exactly 1 foot wide.Stunning. Would it be possible for you to provide general measurements of the tree - height of tree and width of base?
It's been very dry and warm here as well. We had an inch of rain in early October and maybe one tenth since. Also, we'd normally be seeing morning temps in the mid to low 20's F by now... I was still pulling tomatoes off some potted plants on my patio last weekLooking really good…it has definitely earned one of them “better pots”…
Not a hint of fall color here yet. Rained on 9/28 and not again until 11/1, and it’s been in the mid 80s.
I'm looking for an oval or bag, preferably deep green or blue, but it needs to be big, as in 26" plus in width by 4" tall... not an easy pot to source. Will be looking forward to seeing what you pot this into! Looking really good. Dry and too warm here too, but winter will have it's way with us at some point i suppose.
There are so many custom makers out there now...I'm looking for an oval or bag, preferably deep green or blue, but it needs to be big, as in 26" plus in width by 4" tall... not an easy pot to source.
I've reached out to several but haven't been able to lock in the commission yet. There are so many custom makers out there now...
A bag would be cool actually.
Love the movement in the trunk. Agreed...I think the pot being the shape it is. Deflects some of it to a degree. Good luck finding a pot. I've tried commissioned for my Ryusen...with no luck. Even reached out to Sara Rayner. Her medium doesn't take a dark blue glaze. And that's what I'm after. So I've grown comfortable in the shoes it wears. I'm kind of done looking. One will fall into my lap one day. But I've had 3 potters unable to make it. I've not asked Victor Harris though.Obligatory end of season photo when this gets moved to its redneck Brute trash can pedestal for the winter. I was tempted to include this in the new "Elegant Bonsai" thread but ultimately decided it didn't belong. It's got the curves but the trunk, even with the steady taper from bottom to top, is still a bit heavy, and the branching and ramification, though greatly improved since I acquired this one years ago, is still a bit coarse. The heavy, masculine rectangle pot doesn't help. Anyway, great deciduous trees look their best without their leaves and this one looks better... more elegant... with them. Hopefully, time will change that.

I really don't want to show this one until it finds a better pot... still looking but no luck.Dynamite tree Dave - all state show soon?
Oh and one vote for not reducing the height of this one, I just love the structure. Feels likes a grand tall deciduous to me.
