A glutton for punishment

Lost so me trees over winter. But still trucking. :)

So sorry to hear that, it happens to everyone, and was certainly a difficult winter. Nothing terribly heartbreaking I hope. Looks like you are starting back out on the right foot for sure!

Good looking tree! Great transformation!

I think like everyone else- let it fill in a bit and add some dead wood, and you have a REALLY nice bonsai.

Maybe as you let it grow out, allow the lower branches to widen it a bit to add some stability to the image, but very little change is needed to make this one a stunner! Please keep updating the thread for us!

Eh, more than half and all of my better and more developed material. Heart breaking yes. But I've never had a heart break that didn't heal with time.

Starting over, i hope to pick up fewer yet nicer trees. Thanks for the positive vibes. :)

Thank you, kindly, good sir. I like the idea of a slightly wider base. And maybe pull the left branch down a touch. I'll most certainly keep up with the thread as long as this thing lives.

this sounds like words I have uttered within the last couple of weeks. I think it makes sense when you consider how much work it takes to keep XXX alive, and almost the same work to keep xxx/2 alive. The diff is that you can give xxx/2 better care and end up with nicer trees.
