2016 US National Bonsai Exhibition

Did you purchase the stone with the frog? The combination is awesome including the sand and water in the depression. I would love know where you got the frog.
The frog actually belongs to Paul Kellum. He bought it in Japan. The pool stone belongs to Boon.

When putting a display together, it's nice to have friends!

The Olive doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Jeanne Fujimoto. She was kind enough to let me borrow it for the show.

The Hinoki Cypress belongs to Ken Buechel. His yellow pot was on the cover of a Japanese magazine. So, he wanted me to include it in the Show as part of my display.

Got a picture of mine...
Which I think looks good, other than it is turned to the right too much, and the tree obviously got some sort of a restyle during the move??? Not sure, but everything on the right of the tree and the top seems out of place... like not even close out of place?

But, hey... it's there! And that's an accomplishment in itself for an mallsai...
I'm happy and proud of all the hard work I put into it.

Beautiful displays everyone. They all look great in the pics and I'm sure even more wonderful in person. the pics in this thread sure make me disappointed I'm not there, but I sure as shit will keep clicking! Congrats again to all entered. Also thanks to those sharing the photos.

Awesome trees, but too damn hot in there!!!!! Can't imagine trucking some if them 100s of miles across country.

Loved Adair's jbp, very nice
Lots of nice trees

Saw Sergio @MACH5, met @coh in the parking lot, met @Vance Wood and his wife, @Adair M and @f1pt4

Hope it will be cooler tomorrow

I put this elsewhere. When you guys meet Vance give him a hug. He is big on hugging. He may not act like he does but do it anyway. Tell him I told you so.

I'm sure his wife would have something to say about that

Everyone is sweaty!
Those are the best ones. They stay with you.

I'm sure she wouldn't mind. She might even like to watch Vances discomfort as strangers come up and hug him.

... met @coh in the parking lot...
Now that certainly sounds interesting!

It has to be. Was crazy hot in there today. I wound up on the photo crew for a couple of hours, carting those ridiculously large trees around. Probably lost several pounds. Fortunately most of the trees are now photographed. Looking forward to spending more time browsing the show and especially the vendor area tomorrow.

Fabulous work on the total presentation...the whole package looks terrific.

Background looks like the inlets of Hoi An in Viet Nam. Mighty fine!

I really enjoy seeing the work you guys have done on your trees....and appreciate the effort it took to prepare and make the trip to NY. It's amazing to see the development and preparation over time. Some trees I'm sure started as raw tree recruits...not knowing they were destined for the lights of the exhibition. Mighty fine work!

Here is a picture of my tree in its final home for the show:

Adair your pine looks great. The pot might be too small with the extreme flair, but that's being nitpicky. Really, its nice.
I also really like your stand alone in the shohin display.
I guess you haven't been blowing @Smoke all this time. ;)

Thank you for sharing pics.
How long does it take to walk through and look at everything?
Very fun and nice to see everyone in one place.
Have fun

There's 298 trees. I don't know if that counts all the shohin. It would take at least an hour. Probably more. And then there's there the vendors...
