2015 Carolina Bonsai Expo in Asheville NC

Ohhhh yeahhhh.... About that... It died! LOL

I got all "cute" with it and slip potted it into a different grow bag and it grew fine for two months or so then Just dropped dead. Once Azaleas fade on you, I have never had one come back. I can get a Maple or something like that to perk back up if it wilts and I figure out the problem, but Azaleas seem kinda wimpy by comparison... Oh well. I shouldn't have moved it when I did. One of 2-3 trees I killed this year (all were azaleas I think..) Not a terrible ratio out of the hundred or so trees and cuttings I repotted this year! :)

Besides I suspect WP will be a little busy... He has GOOD trees to look at, not junk like that little azalea was..
:(

Cheer up Vin! Not a big loss... Of all the Azaleas I did this year, it was one of my least favorites honestly... And two of the three azaleas I managed to kill off were bought for that Big box store challenge, at a HD... Which in retrospect told me a little something about the health of those trees (or lack there of), as they were treated in much the same way as other trees I worked around the same time which pulled through fine... Thrived even. So, what else can you do but shrug it off, learn from it and move along. I found many MANY much better trees at a local farm and plan to make another trip this Spring!

All that aside, I am so looking forward to next weekend's event! I plant to attend Mr. Pall's lecture if I can get a space, and look forward to seeing some friends and checking out some trees! Might even buy a few things... Oh who am I kidding, DEFFINITELY going to buy a few things! I want to get there early Saturday so I can pick over everything before it gets all sold out...

Which group are you with, I plan to attend and take my camera...

Blue Ridge Bonsai Society, but in the past I've taken pics of the entire show (at least of the trees I particularly liked). Can't do that any more.

I always looked forward to seeing those pics Jim, hopefully someone else here will pick up the torch...

Well, I know John G will be taking pics and videos.. I will take a few pics myself, and I will do my best to snap a few of your trees so everyone can see them!

I will be attending for the first time with hopes of showing a tree with my club (Nashville) next year. I am hoping to meet some of the Bnut following as well as drool over some awesome displays. Called in my spot for the Walter Pall lecture last week and am stoked!

I gave my fiancé the choice to sit in through the lecture or take the car and go shopping.... Looks like I'll be sitting alone :D

Yep, my wife gets a lot of shopping done every Expo, too.

I'll be there on Saturday, ...and for the WP demo/lecture. I also plan to take pictures of all trees on display (in & out) like I have in the past (w/ the exception of last year due to my camera being stolen.)

Wayne,

I'll be there on Friday to set up, and all day Sunday.

One of these days we'll finally meet!

My wife and I visited this display this summer. I was totally impressed with the quality and care of the trees. It was equally as nice as the National exhibit in D.C. which we visited also; about a week later. I have pictures of both displays but I have not had time to sort through them yet.
