I had a piece of piano music that was lost at my large regional post office in the DC suburbs in 2019. The tracking info showed me that it was there (less than 2 miles from my house) for over a week. I went to my local delivery office (not the same as the regional one) and askd for their help. They gave me the phone number for the ombudsman at the regional office.Go to the post office and ask for them to give you an update in person. If they say they can't tell them you want to talk to a supervisor and show him all this BS messages you have been getting. They will get you an answer. The post office that serves my area have a phone number you can call and they will update you on the phone, if it was miss delivered, they will have the carrier go track the package.
I called every day for a week and the one time I got an answer it was a new employee who was eager to help but had no knowledge or ability to use a tracking number. He suggested that I come in person and gave me an address.
I went in person three times and was told that the ombudsman had just left. The 4th time I actually saw him and he said, "OK, I see that it's here in our facility but I can't find out where it is. It's probably on the floor, or been tossed out."
I then had some choice words for him!
I contacted the seller, got a credit, and re-ordered with shipping by FedEx. I got that in 2 days.
The USPS copy arrived one week later- 6 weeks after iit shipped.
