Stacie, sometimes folks ask basic questions during a demo just to keep the conversation going and/or to see what your thoughts are on the basics. It does not necessarily mean they have no clue. I have experienced that quite often in the past. Congrats on your demos! Best, Dorothy

It really depends on the tree. With lots of fine structure I leave a pair of leaves on every branch-let. If the tree needs growth, same thing. If I plan to show it, I leave some leaves on and remove them as soon as the new buds come out. If I have to repot to revive a tree, more leafs stay. If I...

This year I use lava rock/pumice/calcinated clay. All equal parts and size (!). I feed lots of fertilizer and thus water a lot- or vice versa. You may have to adjust to your needs and habits. Best, Dorothy
