Collecting Ashe Juniper this weekend

I have the privilege of going on a collecting trip with The Bonsai Smiths this weekend and I have a few Ashe juniper to choose from. I’m posting images of a couple that I really think I want to try to collect if they are collectible. Choose your favs and help me decide which ones to go for!

I think Howard and Sylvia will point me in the right direction as far as collectibility goes! Youre correct, tons of oak out here and this is actually the location that I have collected my most recent oaks from. For the most part it is just juniper and the six or so variety of oak that grow in our area. There are a couple lone Celtis and mesquite out there but not many.

These trees are in west/central Texas. It's warm there now compared to more northerly latitudes.

60 degrees Fahrenheit today. Sometimes I wish it would stay cold a little linger but we can get those late cold fronts.

We didn’t take many trees but I was happy with the ones we got. It was a good time learning from Howard and Sylvia. We were working on a wonderful oak with a nice intact root-ball and just as were were getting ready to wrap it the ball fell apart. Potted it up and hoping for the best. This isn’t all of them but I don’t have pics of the other ones. Couple nice smaller ones that we didn’t have time to dig but ones I could get out alone so I’ll probably post collection pictures soon.
