Thoughts on this Pot

I was thinking about picking up some clay to try slab building. How long can stuff sit unfired? I know there are a couple of places I could get stuff fired but I don't know how soon I could get it done.

The longer it sits the better. Slow dry is best for most bodies.
I highly recommend you go for it and don't hesitate!
The personal satisfaction for me is great! I love to create functional art.
On the other hand it is not financially rewarding. It sucks you DEEP into the $$$$$ to produce a work that is not worth lunch money!
So when you drive a truck that takes $75 to fill up you can't eat :)

I would love to.
I'll PM you my email so you can send me the particulars.

As I have been throwing all 8 different clay bodies lately the small scraps have been put in the same ball and used as stop blocking, this pot is made of those scraps and will come out of the kiln as a marbled mess of 8 colors.
Should be fun, but it was HELL to center and throw concentric.image.jpeg

I just have tiny hands :)Only 18lbs in it right now and another 5 in the extruder for the lip.
I have a BC I collected four or so years ago that could fit in one of those and is due for a repot in the Spring. I may have to get with you soon.
