Chris Farley based this character on a guy that he played rugby with at Marquette University. Matt Foley is now my parish priest. Father Matt is quite the person, after joining the priesthood he joined the Army after 9/11 to be a Chaplin for our troops and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to joining the Army he served in a church on the west side of Chicago in one of the poorest parts of the city.
He was a hooker and Chris Farley was one of his props. We always talk about rugby as I played every position except tight head prop.
