Watched Mama Bluebird take care of her family.

I made a bird feeder out of a tomato cage. Has sticks, feeders, and a roof to keep out the rain.

All birds love it. :)

I get dried mealworms and those really attract bluebirds.

One year we had swallows but lately there are no bugs to eat.
So this year the bluebirds have adopted the swallow box.

This morning she has been making the rounds.... Worms, box, and back again. :) About 5-6 times a minute!

Pretty cool to watch the process.

We DO get birds!

We had a hard frost last night. I brought the tropicals into the house and put a few sensitive plants I could move into the shed. The only damage I could find this morning was on my Washington Hawthorne. Poor thing has had a rough spring already with an aphid attack that deformed some new growth before I spotted them.

The doctor approved me to go back to work tomorrow. What a bummer!

I went to Canadian Tire on my lunch break and found something I couldn't walk away from. View attachment 542561View attachment 542562
$38.75 USD (converted for you guys)
It was a leftover from last year's stock that survived the winter and leafed out. About 2.5ft tall from the soil
You found this in a tire store?????
