Your spring trimmings !!! Many Species

Here's what I think is Hollywood Juniper. It's not nearly as nice as Shimpaku.

What you're looking at is young growth. I agree that it is a little leggier than shimpaku but not much. More importantly it is a much stronger grower than shimpaku and grows quite large in landscape (I have seen trees 20' tall). I have shimpaku in the ground here for three years and they are just staring at me doing nothing - while my Hollywoods are doing really well. The key to tight foliage is full sun and plenty of iron/magnesium.

Perhaps as improved root stock for shimpaku? They are the same species, after all. Imagine if shimpaku got this big :)

That is for sure Hollywood Juniper.

We just got 12 boxes of stuff that needs to be cut and stuck which is probably going to take a week or two for my wife to get through as i am on the road the next 2 weeks looking for specimens. If you still have access in the beginning of April, we'll probably take 1 or 2 boxes of cuttings from that if you can get them. For us to justify adding Hollywood to our juniper species list we need to be able to get at least 2,500 cuttings though which would be probably about 2 full boxes of the box size you sent us before.

I need to see pictures to believe the OP claim....
