Okay as for tools I replaced my bent concave cutter with another, Bonsai Aesthetics from stonelantern. I can already tell a huge difference between the super cheapo I got from Amazon and these cheap novice grade cutters. So depending on what I get I'm sure I'll be happy.
Hello, Bonsai originated in China as practice called penjing. But, regardless of origin, it is a fine Japanese art form. I agree with you about Japanese cutting tools also. I went to a foundry on a recent trip to Japan and watched a "Master" and his son make kitchen knives. The level of commitment to quality was admirable.
