Did you ever air layer your contorted filbert? I have a huge one in my yard and thinking about trying.

I tried 3 air layers on mine 2 died and one callused over so this spring after it leafs out I’m going to redo the third and try a forth and final. Wish me luck.

I’m doing some air layering on my contorted hazelnut how long dose it take?

I see one orvtwo in the nurseries and big box stores around KC just about every year. I've thought about getting one as a landscape tree but never had a spot for it.

Because I don't own the tree or property I'm not able to get clearance for an air layer. I've snagged cuttings when I've caught the groundskeepers pruning, but haven't had much luck. Haven't tried this year because things have just been too chaotic for me to properly care for cuttings. Maybe I'll try again in spring.
