Looking for an affordable Chinese Quince...could be a rooted thick cutting (stump). Please let me know if you have one you can spare. Post here or PM details. Thanks!

I believe that Bill Valavanis and maybe Matt Ouwinga have had seedlings for sale.

I already messaged Matt on Facebook...waiting for response. I hope he does since I am buying some Korean Hornbeam from him as well.

I bought a bunch of KH seedlings from him last year - they are nice, very twiggy. His JBP and JRP are great as well.

I ordered 3 Korean Hornbeam seedlings and 3 Chinese Quince cuttings from Matt and they arrived today. They are all small but I am very happy with the KH...the CQ not so much.

I am still looking for an affordable bigger Chinese quince. If anyone knows any source, please let me know.

Thanks! :)

Did you check with Wee Tree? They don't have any listed right now, but I'm pretty sure they've had larger specimens in the past. Send them an email or give them a call and see if they might have some in the pipeline.

Chris

Volunteered at the Weyerhauser Bonsai Museum today. Chatted with the curator, david de Groot and he mentioned to me that he had a chinese quince from his personal collection he was planning on offering for sale. You might email him at the collection and ask about size and price.

Thanks Dick but I know I can't afford such tree. I won't even try.

Chris, I'll contact Wee Tree. I have another good lead that I emailed but haven't heard back from them yet so I might give them a call instead.

Dario,

I'll sell this if you are interested. PM me please.

Regards,
Martin

Sorry Dario, I just realized I sent you on a goose chase for Japanese quince, not Chinese quince. Sorry for the confusion but I'm sure you already figured it out.

I'd also like a Chinese quince. Love the bark on them.

No problem. I did the same mistake before. :o

I still appreciate the help. :)

Brussels has had a few growing out in cans in the past. You'd need to call them and inquire.
George Muranaka grows them, but the only ones I've seen are about the size Martin Sweeney showed.
You might try Telperion Farms.
I have a bunch in the ground, none ready to go quite yet, all cuttings from this one. They take forever to trunk up; this was thumb-thick when I bought it in '06, and after 7 years in the ground, I can still get my hand around the base.
