Was going through some photo’s and noticed I had a photo of a winged elm seedling clump I started in summer 2021.

I really like the winged elms and they are native. These are seedlings I found in the back of where I worked.

I put them in the ground spring of 2022 on a tile and of course the took off! I chopped them a couple weeks ago. Primarily to give me options to select my next leaders in spring 2024 and also to do some major root prunning.

Here they are August 2023
I am probably going to only keep 3 trunks because the other two have been crowded out and hardly grew. We’ll see I want to ground grow them at least a couple more years.
