Will’s other backyard buddies.

Not looking for bonsai material here-but anyways,
This year we tried growing pepper plants from seed, + small plants from The farmers market.
The seedlings were slow to develop so we purchased the other plants. It was a little late in the season. I think we only pulled 6 ripe peppers off with many left unmatured as of now.
with the cold snap here as of late, I figured I’d pull them now and see if I can save them for another year!😀

As of now, They will remain in the basement under grow lights.

I've never had much success with peppers. I always get a few, but never a nice crop like I occasionally get from the tomatoes.
Really? Ah man! Shoot.
I had this grand image of beautifully colored peppers 🌶 all over the place! 😂
I may have enough for a small batch of salsa and maybe chilly.

That's a neat idea. Isn't zone 4 pretty cold for peppers? I had decent luck with some varieties last year in some 7a but I think think plants would have liked a little more heat.

USDA zones are defined by lowest winter temperatures, and do not really say much about the weather overall, as far as I know.

Yes. They are inside still under lights. Still alive but haven’t pushed any new leaves yet. 🤷‍♂️

Things where getting pretty scarce and leggy on this one.

I noticed today that the buds were popping and some new leaves had actually sprouted. IMG_0430.jpegIMG_0431.jpeg

Therefore, I will now be keeping it in my heated cold frame- but since I had it out, I decided to chop her down. IMG_0434.jpeg

This is a group of seedlings that was placed absent minded in the pot, and am wondering if I Should just repot it now.
It’s been in this clear plastic Tupperware, for almost four years now.
That soil color is looking mighty interesting.!!🤨

The silver maple group is chugging along.
I may have to make a thread for this one since it been with me since the beginning. Still in the plastic ware. 🤣

I’m hoping to see some nice color this fall.
