If you made a white cardboard cutout in this shape to slip over the soil, would it be good or bad
as a soil cover (loose) to inhibit heat during the 190 degree days?
This got me thinking...cheese cloth could probably be left on full-time. If it rots away, just throw some more on. Partial blockage, like shade cloth, and would allow water and air to pass freely. I might try that on my japanese larch this summer!
