I bought a juniper first thing this spring at Home depot.

And I threw the tag away, duh...

The only thing I know about it:
- It's not a chinensis, a nana or a parsonii.
- I was purple-ish when I bought it, now it's green and it will turn purple again this falls/winter.
- All the branches where naturally going up little a Spanish woman fan at the corida del toro.

Anybody could help me identify this guy (which is doing great btw)?

I haven't got a clue, there are different species junipers o_O:p

They got more today.
Here is the andorra20150827_144502.jpg
Grown in Havana,FL. Errr. Bad.

Maybe it was this Sea Green chinensis.
But I didn't see these in spring.
These are from either Oklahoma, or Maryland, better!20150827_144518.jpg

Still think Andorra!

Alain, that isnt J. virginiana. That looks like J. horizontalis to me.

Ive seen them advertised as Bar Harbor Juniper. I had one at one point and it freaked me out when it turned purple.

Some by me i was going to take from abandoned landscape are currently purple at tips which is how i got here. Sorry i know the thread is old
They are low ground mounding..whatever they are..prob same as op

According to a few min of research it is totally normal response to cold temps..sort of hibernation or part of frost protection mechanism
