Why would you treat a pest with a fungicide?
Get a piece of wire, wrap it with some cotton, dipped in your favorite insecticide, and shove it in as far as you can get it.

I tried with the wire...only able to drag sap out ..could not locate the bugger...wouldn't the pesticides (get absorbed into the pest when it is eating the tree) kill the pest?

I'll try again today.

Just follow up question. I don't see the sticky saw dust/sap anymore on some of the mume. Does this mean no more borer?

Also, on some of the mume, no saw dust but still have sap oozing out...should I look again on these ones?

Thank you.
