What to do after buying bonsai online?

I'm thinking about buying slow release fertilizing pellets. Will that work okay?

There are a lot of fertilizing "methods" and my least favorite is slow release pellets :p I use Jack's for most everything and it works good. There are plants that do not require Nitrogen so I use GroTek on those. Yours would do fine with Jack's -

That's what I use! But...half strength for the Satsuki.

Thanks for the reminder. I brought home a Tsuki No Shimo from a visit to John Lee in Alabama 4 - 5 weeks ago and I will fertilize it today

Not sure why they get half strength...Don Blackmond mentioned it...then, the Satsuki book also states to do so. So...there must be a reason.

Mine will get bi-weekly until flower and monthly after flowering. Far less then other plants here. I do the same with the Rhode and it continues to thrive.
