Nonsense Rascal
I think this is a question where the answers are misunderstood until we have the answerers answer this.....
On a scale of 1-10, what importance do you place on a highly stable and secure fit as necessary for a perfect design?
How much does .04 degree of angle difference bother you?
What type of trees?
Anyone can tie something like piglet in.
But what about a top heavy Literati tree with a fragile Deadwood base?
I use what is on hand that works, but never in the taught manner.
And I find it most difficult to get the appropriate leverage through roots and to the hole to get really good tie down. Of course this is with little to no roots since I have only first potted things.
Oh...lotta people use deep ass pots too, which pretty much makes it really simple to hide mistakes.
Among all the variables, I think technique is more important than material.
