After a hiatus, I was extremely happy to see Victrinia, Will and Eric posting again. Now they seem to have disappeared again. Does anyone know why or if they plan on coming back? All three are tremendous talents and I miss their posts and trees ;)

I think they're hanging out with Mark (Rockm)....he hasn't posted since early May, either.

All three and especially Will were very encouraging to me in the early going of my (serious)bonsai life. There are others too, but I know that I would not be as confident with my choices without their mentoring. I miss them. Sadly, I don't think we will see a return to that time here.

But why?? This forum is pretty tame to most forums on the net. I just don't see the reasoning...and Dave, you're right, I haven't seen Rockm here either. Or even Walter P. doesn't post here, rarely, anymore. Fantastic talents that I learned a lot from. Way too sad!

Some folks have other things to do. Life to live, bonsai to grow. Work. School. Vacation.

Bonsai forums should be low on the list of things to do. MY excuse is that I'm 100% retired.

Not exactly a head-scratcher...
Brings to mind an old saying about Chiefs and Indians...

It's unfortunate that those four have stopped posting, hopefully it's just temporary and some or all will return.

In the meantime, at least we have Marco Polo to help guide us to the bonsai promised land.

I see Walter Pall is on here pretty frequently and he is always kind and helps or just chats in PM. I have not seen the others for a long while. I have a 700 member guild in an online game for which I provide a site, a forum, and a Ventrilo Server. During the Summer months it is absolutely quiet and dead as everyone has life as well. Winter it turns into insanely busy and has been so for several years...

As someone who has frequented this site for quite a while now but holds back when it comes to posting..
I would attribute it to the fact that at a certain point you need to get off of the machine and out in to life. We can all post pictures of our trees and ask for critiques and suggestions and help, but without going out in to the garden and making those successes and failures for ourselves we aren't really going to learn. We are only learning to be held back by our need for reassurance.

Don't get me wrong, I have read a lot of great things posted here. But I can understand the decision to distance ones self from a forum like this.

Also - I could be totally wrong about it all.

Ater spending a few years with Daniel, all three had eclipised the teacher. They are all in the second year of study of a two year program in China with world famous teacher of gnarly branches, "Tre tu smol"

The secret of his technique is this device

I am sure when they get back to the mainland they will have much to tell....

Victrinia is around, just not on here at the moment. I corresponded with her, I think, last week. :D
