This is my 12 y/o Chinese Elm.. He will have 5-6 yellow leaves that fall off to the touch, I use the chopstick watering method, he gets morning sun from sunrise to about 1:30-2:00 with afternoon shade, faces East, well ventilated area, mild humidity, temps in upper 80's to low 90's, located in Oklahoma.. Any advise will help, thanks in advance!!

Yes. No leaf lives forever. Evergreen does not mean FORevergreen. Except perhaps for early spring after a cold winter when all the leaves fell off, I can't recall ever seeing my elms without a yellow leaf or two.

My elms are going through that now too. Nothing to worry about as others have said.

My Elms do that if I am letting them grow out, usually sometime in August. The few I have working on do not do that as much.

Thanks so much guys, I was worried that I might be watering to much but find it hard to believe because of the chopstick method and when I check the soil it is always more to the dry side then wet..
