what are the top root cutting shears and should it be in stainless?

I use these for 99% of my root pruning:

a bonus is that they come apart easily and that makes the edge easy to redress. I have had the same pair for three years now.
Don't these scissors get dull when repotting? are they so resistant to the soil particles or do you wash the roots first before root pruning?
And also.. does the included sharpener really works or you can sharpen it with any other wet stone or diamond sharpener?
And ty for your recommendation.. I wasn't decided what root shears to get, but order a pair of these and wanted to know some additional tips.

I have a older pair of these and they work well as a all around shear. I have a pair of bonsai specific root shears in my box but I wind up grabbing these.

what's the reason if I may ask? are they more comfortable or they retain the edge better than the one specific for roots?

Looks like there is a bottle opener on the bottom blade. If you need a pair of shears that can also open a bottle of beer look no further.

I just like the way the feel. The root sheers i have the handles comes a little close together and it pinches the palm of my hand. Probably my fault but it is what is. For those sheers I have never sharpened them and still cut well. A pair of sheers or scissors will all cut roots really no better than ones marked for bonsai. You just don't want to ruin or dull your your good pruning sheers, your working in dirt.

I have a older pair so mine don't have a bottle opener. Tho that would be handy at times.

Lol, all scissors get dull with use. I rinse some, but there is always some lava or pumice that still gets cut. The included sharpener works OK to clean up the edge, but wet stones or diamond stones work as well. They hold an edge well, so you can get through a whole season
