Any ideas what this particular plant is?

I spied this plant in a lonely corner of my yard, it had gorgeous red flowers last year and the base is really interesting to me. So…into a pot it went! Here is a random collection of pics over the last year:

Not quite flaky enough for a fuchsia I don't think?? Similar though! I think weigela too - trunk looks similar to mine

My weigela - very similar bark and leaves. I have another one that I pruned pretty hard last year - didn't bat an eyelid!
