Finally getting around to trying some cuttings for my Vitex agnus castus 'corteza áspera' I'm using the same technique that I used for my other cuttings this year. Taking 5-7" semi-hardwood cuttings dip in clonex and put in a 5" azalea pan with bonsai soil then into a zip lock bag. It was so funny my wife saw them in the bag and said, "are you growing weed?" Started 9/10/23

First the bark from the mother tree then the cuttings in the bag:

Following for updates. The weed question is definitely valid. Except for the smooth leaf margins, it looks far more like Mary Jane than JM. I found a few small ones growing along the river here in town while fishing with my nieces and nephews. I made the same mistake initially, and steered the kids away until further investigation revealed the true identity.

The bark on this one is magnificent! Great variety; well done!

Found out just today that the V. negundo has the serrate margins... I have had them and did not know it.
Do they also have the musky fragrance in the crushed/cut foliage? It makes sense, as they are in the mint family ( Lamiaceae) with lavender and sage, although not quite as appealing aroma, it's still mostly pleasant. I have a rosemary, also in the same family, and I find something quite soothing about pruning and working with herbal and medicinal trees.
