Almost 3" the biggest ones. How big are those leaves?
This is the one thing I am doubtful about, plenty of people with JM and tridents in my area that need a certain amount of "chill hours" or dormancy and they thrive. Heck, @Clicio is growing JM's in Brazil. Most of my deciduous lose their leaves around January 1st and don't push new foliage until mid-March. I won't hold my breath, but I am not expecting them to not survive or even thrive here... conifers on the other hand is a completely different story. My question is how cold does it get down there in the winter?
You can make accommodations for the heat of summer, shading and watering, ect, but if your winter temps are too high for the tree to achieve dormancy it will not survive. It may take a few years, but eventually it will be exhausted.
