Vietnamese Blue Bell questions

I also have one from Wigerts and it intimidates me. I've never repotted a neagari bonsai before, I realize the procedure is the same and I plan on doing it this weekend.

The ROR move is awesome. :) It is a tough tree for sure, & I expect to see a lot of roots when I repot. Mine is top heavy & I want to get it in a pot that won't tip over in the wind. The Wiegert pot is old and cracked in spots. I have to bungie cord it down in my area because of the wind.

I have sowed my first batch with great success. You can tell which seeds are viable by look at the seed through light. You will see a seed inside. If it is flat then it is not viable. They germinate in about a week. Don't collect it until the pod dried and brown.
Here what the seedlings look like... about 3 or 4 weeks old.

Nice TY. That's the part I didn't know.

Do you remove the thorns when pruning and styling?

I generally haven't been.

Also here's a quick update for that bluebell. It's nice to have a plant that really loves the weather down here in Houston lol.

Trying to decide if next spring is good to move it to a nicer pot, or let it grow another year. thoughts?

Blue bell tend to create new buds at the cut, so if you want to get the trunk as big as possible you can cut near the base and let all branches grow, some thing like this.
Their wounds heal fast so don't need to worry if you apply cut paste

If have have patience in a few years you will have something as this

You can even create deadwood on them, good luck
