My deciduous oak has yet to bust a move.
Hell, it has yet to even HINT at a ...smidge... of green in the buds.
Stupid tree!

Its cold as shit here today....is be pissed if my oak was greening up now.

Hey, why are your leaves green?
Is that pic from last summer?

In the UK the oak is one of the last to move. Everything else is moving, oaks are still fully dormant. I was taught a rhyme, one of those old wive’s tales, “Oak before Ash we’re in for a splash, Ash before Oak we’re in for a soak“. We’ve had a pretty darn wet winter so I hope oak pushes first.

The guy who runs our weekly bonsai kindergarten says his haven't performed either.

I have an old saying too.

"Lissen up you damn oak, cords of your kind sell good around Thanksgiving!" 🤬

DUH! It's still Winter! Here April is bud break for natives. Pretty much for potted others also.

Looks like blue oak?

The valley and blue oaks in Chico are just barely starting to move. I have some valley seedlings that look like they'll start opening in the next week.

We didn't have a winter in the Sacramento Valley this year. I started outdoor, unprotected seeds at the end of January. Mike's just a bit south of me.

Damn if I know. It was a starter from Eisley 2 years ago. 🧐
