We're looking to compile a list of TV shows and movies with bonsai in them. Not shows about bonsai, but tv shows and movies that have bonsai as part of the set or otherwise present. Season and episode info appreciated if you have that info. Where most regular people might not even notice the bonsai tree in the show or movie, we have a feeling if your part of this forum, you likely noticed the bonsai tree immediately.

Thanks.

I know that I saw one on "Bob's Burgers" but I can't find an episode reference. While searching I found this awesome article though:

I remember this one :

A mysterious , complicated , erotic and visually beautiful film .
There are many scenes where we see beautiful trees which could appear in exhibitions .

Did a search and found this. Looks pretty steamy. Never knew bonsai could be so sexy 😳

There was also this thread from a few years back where people were talking about movies with bonsai trees

"What If" starring Rene Zellweger has at least one magnificent bonsai in several indoor scenes.

Toward the end of "the royal tennenbaums" Luke wilson tries to flee an accident and juumps a fence into a bonsai garden. I think I'm remembering that correctly...

I've seen lots of them. All misplaced, as if just another prop and not in a position where it would actually grow.
Yeah, they all get used as props which I’m not really a fan of. I like looking for any iconic tree in a film or tv show and maybe train one of my own trees to look like that.

In the movie 'Pain&Gain' (Mark Wahlberg & Dwayne Johnson) Ed Harris plays a PI and his wife has several bonsai at their home.
Only thing is the movie is situated in S. Fla. and as far as I can see none of them are tropical. I guess I'm not supposed to notice.

you mean ‘misplaced’ like the all of the trees that are rotated through indoor displays, as is done for example at omiya or in bill valavanis’s shop?

bonsai is the craft, display is the art - peter warren
