I hardly ever don’t see tridents at local nurseries in JHB. Most nurseries have tridents in some size or shape. I’ve bought trunks close to 10cm wide at the base for as little as R400.
Note that these are garden trees though and will take many years to heal the resulting chops, preferably with ground growing as the main/only option if you want to see the scars heal within 5 years.
Once again have a look through the 10 pages of my trident thread, amongst the seed and seedling grown projects you’ll see some of the larger nursery trees I’m building.
