put the wood working tools down and got back to working on trees. all are works in progress. posting views of 3 large premna microphylla foliage/branch pruned to stimulate new growth, a lantana collected last fall, plus 2 bougainvillea which happen to be flush with color.

best wishes, sam

Your'e doing it again Sam, your'e killin me here, love your trops buddy. Wish I could do a premna justice here, but alas the snows do come.

Nice work sam, if you don't mind me asking, did you get the premna locally or did you bring them in?

thanks guys. the premna are imports.

best wishes, sam

Nice trees. The Lantana must be huge! It sure have a nice trunk but I would probably remove that huge branch/trunk to the right if it were mine and style it as single trunk.

What type of woodworking do you do?

Bill. How about a climate controlled green house first? ;)

At first I thought you meant 'trees that i dug out of my yard' as though they were no big deal. These are gorgeous and certainly a big deal.

Daygan,

I blame old age ;) . I've seen Sam's work here and other forum but did not connect the name to the projects. And yes, I do enjoy them. Thanks!

thanks for the feedback, everyone. about the lantana, my initial thought was to cut the right hand trunk off. reconsidered after realizing that the second trunk makes the tree unique as opposed to moyogi style. when the branches from the main trunk fill in the negative space , the overall look will be more cohesive. sizewise, the tree is about 22 inches high and about 5 inches wide at the soil line-not including the large root on the left. I have other larger lantana under development. they are in flower now and add nice touch of color to my collection.
I live in hawaii. a broad hint of my location relates to the koa wood (endemic to hawaii) that I use in most of my display stands

best wishes, sam
