I have been on previous trips to this property. I got permission again to dig a few of these trees up (Will post in separate threads)

I know these are invasive species and native to China. Best case, I got good material. Worst case, one more off the streets (to be replaced by 100 more)

Not sure what the plan for this one is other than let it be a big boy. The knob at the bottom is 2” round

Had some free time and had a big 20gal pot of used potting soil/ nursery soil I could use up

Repot time! Better than the literal dirt they were in

Decided to trim off the dying leaves and take the tops down a bit. This’ll allow it to fit on the east side of my bench and in more shade during the hotter part of the afternoon and into evening (before it got full sun from 12-5 during the hot part of the day). Hopefully this aids recovery

I actually ran out of the used mix so finished with a bag of lawn topper and that stuff seems to drain instantly vs the potting soil mix. An option to test out. Its consistency is like coarse coffee grounds
