Ailanthus altissima

I’ve had previous trips to this property. I got permission again to dig a few of these trees up (Will post in separate threads)

I know these are invasive species and native to China. Best case, I got good material. Worst case, one more off the streets (to be replaced by 100 more)

The plan is to let it recover and then chop it to the node above the movement

New roots; who dis?!

Wow, after 5 days in dirt and not optimal recovery conditions a la “stick it in the shade of other material,” high 90 temps, and just mist it 3-4 times a day

Had some free time and had a big 20gal pot of used potting soil/ nursery soil I could use up

Repot time! Better than the literal dirt they were in

Well, this one missed the memo to bud higher up… what an idiot

Put it up where it could get more sun and energy. I’ll prob do a light fertilizing

If it doesn’t bud higher, I guess I’ll just have to start from scratch on this one. No biggie
