I’m currently traveling from Anchorage Alaska down the coast to Vancouver BC, wondering if there were any Bonsai related things I should put on the itinerary?
Will not have time for any significant collecting.

The only one I know if is @River's Edge over on Vancouver Island. Technically a little out of your way, but it's high on my list of places to visit!

Sitka Alaska is a really beautiful town. I lived there for two years and the whole family loved it. It’s set in a bay with Mt Edgecumbe overlooking the town from the west. Very historic area.

Perhaps one of the most scenic towns on the coast. I’ve been to most of the towns in the SE. Not many could hold a candle to it.

There are a couple nice places to visit, the National Park, Raptor center, Russian church, and many tours emanate from there. Check it ou5 on TripAdvisor etc. Channel club used to be the best place to eat in town.

Glacier Bay is a really nice place too.. you have to fly in to Gustavus or take a boat to get there

Have a great visit!

cheers

UBC campus in Vancouver has a Japanese garden, but it's tiny and no bonsai.
I wasn't going to comment but since there's so little other comments and I was happy to have at least something to add, there you go!
There's also a botanical garden.

I had a wonderful trip, sailed into the depths of Glacier National Park, which was the main focus of the ship we were on. Had great Park Rangers guiding and narrating the whole time which really elevated the amazing views.

Was in a near constant state of awe at the trees crumbling down the cliffs and growing and thriving in their tumbled clinging state. Would have been a life’s prize to carefully collect one.

I did end up with the tiniest Sika Spruce sapling in my pocket after walking thru a parking lot, no idea how it happened. But since I’m stuck with it, might as well….

Haven’t visited myself yet but this place is something you might want to look into: Shikoku Bonsai Canada. By appointment

Edit: my apologies it seems to be an older post. Please ignore. Hope you had a good trip
