Had the first study group meeting tonight. I'm hesitant to call it a study group yet, more like "intro to bonsai" but I think it went well. We just looked at some books, watched a few videos, discussed a few concepts, and tasted some Japanese whiskeys. Next step is a field trip to a private collection.

No, it was the fact that they never actually discussed any real bonsai-related topics or worked on any trees or made any plans to do so in the future.
