Thickening trunks

Tridents are good. Just cut your teeth on a little less ambitious goal. Shoot for a 6 to 8 inch tree with say a 1 to 1.5 inch trunk?

That sounds a little more realistic. First things first though, I'll allow him to grow for several years, and I will better determine the path I want for this tree as I see it develop.
Thanks!

This is a good plan and reasonable expectation. In that time you'll experience a lot around keeping trees healthy. And....during that time you'll adjust and change your direction several times...all good...just part of the process. If you find a few Tridents that are inexpensive, and you can afford them in your budget, pick them up and have more fun trying different approaches as you learn more and want to try more things you read about or see in video releases.
