The usage of hb101

I just hate to see scammers preying on people.
Disclaimer--I have had two glasses of wine tonight and may be more forthright than I would otherwise be. If so I apologize

The sellers of HB101 and Superthrive are not outright scammers. They have a product that may or may not work. I did not see a difference with HB101 when using it on my collection but I did see favorable impacts with Superthrive (to be fair I also added kelp meal to my foliar feeding schedule at the same time. So maybe it was the superthrive, maybe it was the kelp meal, but regardless the trees did much better with the new formulation)

This is not the same as the guy who sells procumbens juniper cuttings at $150 a pop. Nor is it the same as the guys who sells "bonsai" seeds to the unsuspecting public.

I know people (some of whom are noted artists) who think HB101 is awesome and has made all the difference in their growing schemes. Ditto for Superthrive. Superthrive was actually recommended to me by a noted professional whom I shall not name as he does not need to be dragged into this, Whatever. If you dont want to spend the fifteen bucks then don't. It is a relatively cheap scam if it is a scam, and if it isn't fifteen bucks is not much to pay

It sure smells good. I have worked with a couple pros who use it. I bought a bottle years ago and don’t remember the last time I used it.

Also, what exactly is an "ionized mineral"? Versus what, an unionized mineral?
well, ionized does have a meaning, basically that atoms of an ionized element have an electrical charge, whether that be positive or negative, rather than being neutral. atoms can become ionized if they have either more or less than their natural complement of electrons

I've tried it all. Somehow, my trees are still alive since their last Super thrive application about 20 years ago, and I still have a bag of powdered humic acid I purchased over a decade ago, haven't used it in at least 5-6 years.

Anyway- grow tree species that do well in your climate
- provide good sun/shade/wind protection/winter protection as needed based on your given location and species needs
- provide good soil, water and fertilizer ( and fertilize frequently/appropriately based on your goals for each tree)
You don't need anything else... my 2 cents.

Yes- and all of the elements they listed will necessarily be present as "ionized minerals". Especially since mineral implies something inorganic, the phrase is completely meaningless. Why not just list "ammonium silicate" or "Iron(III)-EDTA"? It is an attempt to look "scientific" by using jargony words.
