Bad photo, bad angle. I do think this pot is maybe a little too big for the tree, but it’s budding out and after two years in more of a training pot I wanted to check out the roots.

The roots are doing very well.

I think this is the fourth year this Korean hornbeam has been with me. I think I’ll be able to bang it into shape eventually.

That is gorgeous, I’ve never seen flowers on a Japanese maple. What is that?
Thank ya kindly... A common Acer palmatum. Yes most can bloom. If you've defoliated or not permitted it to grow well. Then possibly not. And not all apparently bloom...just like fruiting trees. That...was from when I asked Boon why some don't bloom.
