That was a pot I commissioned from Byron Myrick. He hadn’t made any slab pots yet, and I wanted a replica of this certain pot in the book Classical Bonsai of Japan. I think he made 3, the best one cracked during the glaze firing. This one has the right shape, but the glaze isn’t quite on the mark. The whole thing should have looked like the right end of the front looks. Had it cooperated, it would have really been a special pot.
