Stoned...

Oh, lordy -- you win!
And you woulda loved my former boss, who grew up on a farm in Illinois -- they made explosive stuff too. How the adults never suspected the blast patterns in the fields, I dunno...
There’s a farm-family around here that specializes in “sparkler bombs”.. I’ve seen them DEMOLISH a Fridge/freezer combo with two.

🤪

Also, pertaining to “not for show-floor quality” pieces from my last firing.. this textured, planting tray... I like It.. but... it’s construction taught me how NOT to make them! 🤣 Just how to do it MUCH better next time.

It’s strong.. and straight/sturdy..

Just the previously mentioned design flaws.. aaaand some superficial cracking around some edges.. I believe this to be due to the marked “gung-ho” attitude I had about brush-on-slipping those edges... (yes, @sorce , i know 🤣🤣).. but we learn.

Keeping full tanks with a valve to switch between the 2 is easier.
I must’ve missed this!

THIS’d be the way to go... and just submerged in water... enough water to 1/3 submerge TWO tanks could NEVER be frozen up by ONE tank.

I’ve been swapping tanks like a caveman!!!

I Ieeeaaally wish it would’ve “walked into a door” BEFORE i glazed it.. because NOW... the material is unusable.
I seem to recall some show as a kid on a toilet factory. Don't remember specifics 30 years later, but they said that almost nothing in the porcelain manufacturing process got wasted, no matter what stage of production the mishap might have taken place in.

Maybe a bit of creative hope?

Oh there ARE things I can do with it.. like plaster for my woodfired kiln.. I just mean.. it will never be a “piece” again.

Oh my GOD!

My internet OR phone service has been JACKED up.. it takes me 5-10 minutes just to load a page... this is the first time the text bar loaded for me since a conversation with Hinmo a few days ago...

This is my “message in a bottle”

Oh also.. this fun thing from our trip to Green Bay today.AB5C0A38-1C93-4354-AB43-3412D45C7169.png

Preparing specific burns to create specific ash batches (after a wonderfully revealing WSP video on ash glazes gave me a ton of reassurance on my theories surrounding ash-matter).. and ALSO harvesting ash for my Low-Fire/Wood-Fired Kiln in progress.
