Just cherry picked some quartersawn Kingwood.......this wood is pretty expensive! Hoping to make at least a dozen mame sized stands from these pieces.

What I got on hand are Jatoba, Bloodwood, Ash, White Oak, and Cedar. I am still debating on what to do next.

Just like that, I now have a procraftination project to turn parts of my daughter childhood piano into a tabletop for her work table. She has a motorized adjustable standing/sitting desk. I am planning to replace her table top with one made from the piano and the entire keyboard will be part of the tabletop encased in clear epoxy. When she types it would be like she's at the piano playing at my home.

What I got on hand are Jatoba, Bloodwood, Ash, White Oak, and Cedar. I am still debating on what to do next.

I also have Wenge, Padauk, Bloodwood, Redwood, Olive, Black Walnut, and Mango stock. probably some other woods I'm forgetting.

I'm going to focus using the African Rosewood and the Kingwood for the stands though.

This is where I'm at. Taking advantage of the day off tomorrow and going to see if a few lumber distributors have anything interesting. With the current design I'd like to use multiple complementary species but I need to see what's available

I have a PhD in that. Lol.

So, I was checking out my wood in the garage thinking about a Stand, and started putting things together,,,
I think I should have drawn pictures first because I’m pretty sure this is going to be a semi acoustic bass guitar instead.
It’s like when you start working a tree as an informal upright and it turns into a cascade…
I’m going to have to start over on the stand.

I worked on my stand today. I managed to get to the dry fit stage. Still need to do some minor touch ups before I can start gluing up. This African Rosewood machines pretty good and has a really nice color to it. I have to check if I have enough wood left over to make another stand. Still deciding what type of finish to apply.

Thanks! I'm thinking next stand will be a tall cascade type.....if I have enough wood.
