Some of my Acers in the greenhouse are breaking bud, Some of my Hawthorns are too but those are outside!, Some need repotting badly too!
A couple of years ago I had two Ap 'Little Princess' and a Kiyohime come in to leaf in the middle of january, The leaves wilted badly and turned brown very quickly, I thought they had pegged it but I left them to get watered with the rest of the trees, Eventually they pushed out a fresh crop of greenery but they were sparse and tiny!!, They didn't do well last year either although they slept in much longer!!
