had anyone use sphagnum peat moss to mix for your bonsai soil? I used pine park, but it's seen to hot here in texas, and it dry out only after 3 hours. Can peat moss fix the problem to keep the moister in soil a little longer? thanks.

You might consider using fresh live spahgnum instead of the dry stuff.I recently read on Colin Lewis bonsai that he is selling it now and recommends it.Check out his site.you can cultivate it.

Have you tried adding in a fired, but porous clay product. It can hold the water inside it self, re-wets immediately and helps to cool the roots?
Good Evening.

Yes some people have used the stuff and some of them are dead or crippled. You can get a serious lung disease from the fungus spores in the stuff, us composted Pine bark.
