I'm in the final stages of planning my bonsai display garden as well as touching up the landscaping around the house. Unfortunately, it seems that sourcing slightly less common grafted conifers like weeping P. densiflora or strobus- two of my faves for landscaping- along with other select specimens is proving difficult. I'm hoping folks might list some on line sources for unusual tree material. My google searches so far have been a bit underwhelming. TIA.

It’s worse here in Canada . Even some seed sources won’t ship here since covid . I would like some bristle cone pine . Talked to a local specialist conifer nursery . He gets a lot of his stuff from USA upper Midwest Oregon mostly . Thinking of getting him to order me some . ( he don’t normally carry it . The thought of shipping a couple of trees alone from there is scary to even think of the cost . I at least gave him a good laugh . Told me his nursery is going to look pretty empty this spring .

Hello,
For landscaping, I have been pleased with Conifer Kingdom and Kigi Nursery.

Try looking up native plant nurseries near you.
Well, I don't want natives specifically. I've been a plant collector since I was 12 and I really enjoy specific dwarf and weeping conifer cultivars. Now that I'm back up north, certain spruce, fir, and pine cultivars are back on my radar as possible additions to the landscape. Coenosium Gardens was my go to back in the day but they don't sell on line anymore since the owner retired a few years ago.

Oh gotcha just speaking in my own intuition… I’ve found so many exciting specimens for bonsai or just landscaping at this native nursery near me .. I’m hoping to build a native rock sedum garden and even mini bog w carnivorous plants

Yeah, I left a bog garden with 30+ different pitcher plant hybrids, sundews, and fly traps on the side of a steep hill in N GA when I moved... really wish I could grow them here but too cold.

try whitman farms or topiary gardens. Topiary gardens has a decent amount of conifers and is in N. New York so has cold weather items. I don't know if Whitman Farms carries conifers or not but has a lot of fruiting and flowering trees. She also will ship pretty big stuff. You will have to call her though. She is old school. Forest Farm is pretty good too but everything will be pretty small.

Ahh that sounds sick

Have you checked out mr. Maple? They carry rare and odd ball conifers.
