Soil scoop

I repotted a tree that took 40 gallons of soil this year. Solo cup no good.

I guess I should be glad I don't have huge stock. Gotta pic of that tree in 40 gallos of soil? That must be a joy to move!

This trident planted in this box. Sorry I need to take a post transplant pic. I Move it with a hydraulic lift and repot it using a pulley system attached to a very large tree. It's really too much, but I had to have it at the time.

That's a monster! It would take me and my solo cup all season to fill it.

20 gallons! You don't need a scoop, you need a dump truck!

Not uncommon for me to mix a substrate with a spade and a garden weed rake, fill the bottom with the spade and then break a scoop filling it in. I am really happy I ordered those. I am guessing Agway thinks I own a couple of horses based on my purchases :p

are these larger ones your fruiting trees?

Some of us work with large stock and the needs are quite different. Many of my specimens are in 20 gallon and larger containers right now and there will be 5 more this Spring. Good scoops that do not bend or break are needed.

I need those from time to time also. I call them shovels.

Fruiting and Maples, if I continue as in the past with several specimens I should have some Hachi-uye and Imperials in about 5 more seasons. jkd uses the same Hydraulic cart for the big stuff. I am trying to work out Pneumatic tires for them but so busy with the house it is on hold. Might seem odd but I like the huge stuff and have a wide variety of much smaller. My goal is to backlight the tall with medium and small in front during the Summer nights. Takes years to achieve but I have a few left :P

What sizes? The 38oz is perfect for me and the 58oz is almost like a shovel. Anything bigger I can use as a sled. :p LOL

I ordered a 12,24, and a 38oz for the huge stuff. I would just use a Garden Spade over 38 oz.
