This is looking fantastic Shogun! I've recently gotten into native azaleas too, the flame azalea in particular. I purchased nursery material with a 1.5 inch trunk and tons of suckers. I don't know where I'm going with it, but I'm really excited to see your post because it's been hard to find info on training native azalea into bonsai. This is very promising! I look forward to more updates!

Thanks @tanlu I’m gonna actually go back to my spot tomorrow to find some more native azaleas or other natives that may be good to develop in future too!

There hasn’t been many documented native azaleas for bonsai im
Kinda writing the script im sure there is someone that tried these before though

Fall update I removed one of the smaller branches to allow the others to fill in . I love the pot too with the fall colors
