Shimpaku?

IMG_7112.jpegI’m planning to air layer the 2 biggest branches first and turn them to dead branches later. Should I go for a cascade and use below pic as front?

You are buying from a seller in China?? Are you sure that the seller is honest and that you will get what you pay for or get anything? Anything coming from that direction is scary to me.

Maybe you have already addressed this.
feels very much like the OP is in China and is actually visiting the nursery

I’ll take ten of those at $130/each…
How much is shipping again?

The nursery is in China and I have a seller in my country who import and sell them at $130, they also sell JBP around 3cm diameter $10 each
Definitely price will be much higher in US…

That was 80% for the funnies. I knew they’d be much more expensive in the US. The mark-up from China to the West at large is usually incredible.

I’m surprised that you can’t find junipers like these domestically in Vietnam, I was under the impression there was a significant bonsai market there. Personally, I would avoid these not just because they are grafted from a relatively obscure species but also because they’re a bit ugly.

Yes Vietnam have big bonsai market but they are mainly ficus water jasmine and blue bell.
People only start growing Junipers and Pines around 10-15 years ago so there are not many big trees now, almost all good trees are imported from China or Japan.
